- Fundamentals of GIS and Remote Sensing and its Application
- Overview, concepts and principles, data types, and applications.
- Software Introduction and Installation
- Information on GIS software, installation, supported data formats.
- GIS Data Structure, Layers, and Attributes
- Understanding vector and raster data models, data characteristics, layers, and attributes.
- GIS Mapping, Scales, and Projection System
- Types of maps, map scale, projection systems, and coordinate systems.
- Interface of ArcCatalog and Metadata
- Basics of ArcCatalog, metadata creation, and updating.
- GIS Data Capturing and Encoding
- Georeferencing, spatial adjustment, digitizing, and geocoding.
- Introduction to ArcMap’s Basic Tools
- Basic tools and functionalities in ArcMap.
- Geo-referencing
- Techniques and tools for geo-referencing using grid-based and satellite images.
- Geo-database Development and Digitization
- Shape file creation, digitizing, and attribute table management.
- Map Projections
- Understanding various map projection systems and geo-referencing.
- Attribute Table and its Management
- Managing attribute tables, adding, deleting, and modifying attributes.
- Basics of Map Design
- Labeling features, using symbology, and advanced symbolization.
- Map Preparation
- Creating layouts, inserting map elements, and exporting maps.
- Analysis of Attribute Data
- Analyzing attribute data, performing geometric calculations, and functional use of select by attribute.
- Geo-Processing
- Clip, merge, dissolve, intersect, and buffer functions.
- Role/Use/Functions of GPS in GIS
- Understanding GPS devices, their use in GIS, and relevant software.
- Introduction to Google Earth & Google Map
- Utilizing Google Earth and Google Maps for GIS applications.
