Course Title: Training Program on Building Research Career for Early Professionals and Students

Course Objectives:

I. Introduction to Academic Research and Identifying Research Topic

  • Defining academic research
  • Importance of academic research in various fields of study
  • Overview of research process
  • Identifying a research topic of interest
  • Narrowing down and focusing research question

Assignment: Develop an individual research title with research question and properly mention the significance of the research.

II. Project Proposal Writing and Literature Review

  • Understanding and writing Project Proposal

Assignment: Write a research proposal as per given format.

  • Conducting a thorough literature review
  • Citation management tools (Zotero, Mendeley)

Assignment: Write literature review of your research (Assignment 1).

Presentation 1: Update of your research

III. Research Methods and Data Collection Technique

  • Quantitative and qualitative research methods
  • Choosing the appropriate research method for the research question
  • Data collection tools (SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics)
  • Map making tool GIS (Introduction)

Assignment: Conduct data collection as per requirement of your research (individual)

VI. Data Analysis and Visualization

  • Statistical analysis software (OriginPro, Past)

Assignment: Present your analyzed data and result with software as you required.
